Day 01 Delhi
Arrive Delhi. Meeting on assistance and transfer to the hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 02 Delhi - Gwalior
Morning transfer to the railway station to board Shatabdi train for Gwalior. On arrival check in at the hotel. Afternoon sightseeing tour of Gwalior. The city is famous for its old and very large fort which rises 100 meters above the town. Its width varies from a kilometer to less than 200 meters. Within the fort walls are several interesting temples and ruined palaces. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 03 Gwalior - Shivpuri - Orchha
Morning leave for Orchha. En route visit Shivpuri. It has some beautiful cenotaphs of the Scindia family, the rulers of Gwalior. The cenotaphs are famous for their inlay work on marble. On arrival check in at the hotel. Afternoon sightseeing of Orchha. Once the capital of the Bundelas, Orchha is now just a village which is set amongst a well preserved complex of palaces and temples. Visit the Jehangir Mahal, Rajmahal, Ram Raja Temple, Chaturbhuj Temple, Sunder Mahal and Cenotaphs dedicated to the memory of Orchha's rulers. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 04 Orchha - Deogarh - Chanderi - Orchha
Full day excursion to Deogarh and Chanderi. Built between 10th to 11th Century, Deogarh Temples are contemporary to the temples of Khajuraho. The old city of Chanderi is famous for it Fort and handloom brocade sarees. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 05 Orchha - Bhopal
Morning leave for Bhopal by road. On arrival check in at the hotel. overnight at the hotel.
Day 06 Bhopal - Sanchi - Udaigir - Vidisha
Full day excursion to Sanchi, Udaigir, and Vidisha. Sanchi is the site of the most extensive Buddhist remains now known in India and certainly one of the oldest buildings in India are the now standing Buddhist Stupas at Sanchi. Also visit the Ashokan Pillar, Gupta Temple built in the 4th Century and the great bowl carved out of one piece of stone. Udaigir is popularly known for twenty Gupta Cave Shrines dating from 320 to 60 A.D. Vidisha was important in Ashoka's times and was the largest town in the area. The ruins of the 2nd century township are found here. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 07 Bhopal - Indore
Morning sightseeing of Bhopal visiting the Upper Lake, the Lower Lake, Laxmi Narayan Temple, Birla Museum, Kilol Park, Kamla Park, Moti Masjid, Sadar Manzil and Taj-ul-Masjid. Drive past Vidhan Sabha, Tagore Memorial and the National Archives of India. Afternoon drive to Indore. On arrival transfer to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 08 Indore - Ujjain - Indore
Morning excursion to Ujjain . Visit the Mahakaleshwar Temple, Observatory, and the Bathing Ghats on the Shipra river. Afternoon sightseeing of Indore visiting the Kanch Mandir, Lal Bagh Palace and the New Palace. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 09 Indore - Omkeshwar - Maheshwar - Mandu
Morning leave for Mandu. En route visit Omkeshwar and Maheshwar.
Omkeshwar is famous for the Shiv Temple situated here. On the confluence of the rivers Kavery and Narmada it is one of the holiest centres of pilgrimage for the Hindus. Many stone cut ancient temples exist here. Maheshswar is a town which once was the capital of Ahilya Bai Holkar. It is famous for its Maheshwari sarees which are renowned for their unique weaves. On arrival check in at the hotel. overnight at the hotel.
